Found + Made encompasses the various creative endeavors of Maris Kaplan, a multi-disciplinary artist and maker currently based out of Sacramento, CA.

She loves playing with color, creative reuse, and collaborating with others. With a focus on sustainability, all works incorporate secondhand materials such as thrifted fabric, upcycled clothing, and found objects.

Her creative practices are influenced by her global travels while teaching ESL, the colors and culture of her Californian upbringing, and her continued passion for lifelong learning. Her interest in community building has led to teaching various workshops and, as of spring 2024, creating the Broad Cloth Community Fiber Studio in conjunction with volunteering at Broad Room’s Free Art Supply Closet.
